I had food poisoning for Thanksgiving which was oh so horrific. My family journeyed from Texas to spend Thanksgiving with me and this was not what either of us had in mind. My vacation days turned into sick days; in retrospect, I would rather finish strong than finish sick.
I officially have two weeks left…I have a mock interview tomorrow, a case study and a self evaluation to complete. Not too terrible. Plus, I’m making some Christmas treats for my team.
There are things I’ve come to enjoy about Springfield that I will miss: historic neighborhoods, snowflake lights on the street posts, the fact that you can get from one end of town to the next in 6 minutes (usually), a few local cafés, the fall foaliage, the Ozarks, the National Battlefield in Republic, the hospital and my incredible team of Child Life Specialists.
I’ll have another post about them, don’t want to think of leaving them at the moment. Still trying to get well, no need to get sad.
My parents took a load home when they left a few days ago. I’ll be coming back myself, with my load, stopping in North Texas to see friends. Then onward home, weather permitting.
Texas, I’m coming.
