Grateful Heart

Today was the second to last day of internship. I’m an avoidant coper…I don’t want to believe tomorrow is the final day.

Today we went to lunch at Neighbor’s Mill Bakery and Café, a local place here in Springfield. It’s beyond amazing, and a bit like la Madeleine, for the Texas folks. It was delicious of course and everyone enjoyed the atmosphere. Since we eat together everyday, it didn’t feel odd that we all sat down together.

I also gave them their presents and snow globe cookies…which they LOVED! They were amazed by the cookies, but the quilled crosses meant the most. When Rana opened hers, she smiled in amazement and hugged the frame. My heart smiled…it is all so special.

I’m going to miss them beyond words.

It’s special when the nurses wish I was staying and say “you were beyond amazing”.

Tomorrow. Tomorrow!
