I stood in a field in Central Texas and looked at the wide open space. A dirt & gravel road paved away some of the big ruts, but the rest was hay colored grasses and barbed wire fences. The sky above was big and blue…there was nothing to adorn an eye.
This blank and empty canvas, the canvas of the Earth held more knowledge than I would ever come to know. The birds in the distance, the tree over yonder, and the quiet wind surrounded me.
For the young woman on the pioneer trail, yearning for new tomorrows and more big and wide open spaces, you can go the distance.
Reach for the sky
